BASIC COMPUTER TERMINOLOGIES

Hardware ― physical component of a computer system.
Software ― programs and other operating information used by a  computer.
Operating System ― software that supports a computer’s basic functions
•Central Processing Unit (CPU) ― known as the brain of the computer;   where calculations take place.
•File ― object on a computer that  stores data and information.
•Icon ― small graphical representation of a program or file.
Folder ― holds one or more files.
Internet ―  global system of interconnected computer networks.
Browser ―  software application for retrieving, presenting, and   traversing information resources on the World Wide Web.
Virus ―  piece of code that is capable of corrupting the system or   destroying data.
Desktop ― primary display screen of a graphical user interface.
Cursor movable indicator on a computer screen identifying the   point that will be affected by input from the user.
