  • controlling peripherals

DESKTOP
Allows interaction between the user and the operating system.

HOW TO NAVIGATE THE DESKTOP?
  • We use the mouse to navigate the desktop.
  • Hold the mouse gently with your index finger resting on the left button and your thumb resting on the side.
  • Move the mouse by sliding it slowly in any direction. Notice that as you move the mouse, the pointer on your screen moves in the same direction.

  • CLICK means to point an item on the screen, then pressing the primary button (left) of the mouse once and quickly letting it go.

  • RIGHT CLICK means to point an item on the screen, press the secondary button (right) and release it.
  • DOUBLE CLICK means to point to an item on the screen and press the primary button (left) twice very quickly.
  • Note that if the two clicks are spaced too far apart, they might be considered as two individual clicks rather than as double-click.
  • DRAG means to point an item on the screen, press the primary button (left) and move the item to a new location and release the button.
  •  You can drag the mouse towards left, right, up or down or any other direction.
